Hi!!,
Today I'm going tell you about an idea than Sir Ken Robinson's proposes in http://www.ted.com/, he talks about the educational system in all the world kills creativity. In general, I'm totally agree with him in many points of his presentation. One of them is than human creativity is an extraordinary capacity than we lose with the time, and this is influenced by our educational system, because the schools promotes the idea than being wrong is wrong, but if you have fear to be wrong, you never could do anything original. That for one side, in the other hand we have than the schools have a pyramid of importance of its subjects, privileging subjects than will be useful to get a jof in a future -and commonly this subjects havn't place to creativity or to do original things-, and leaving to second plane the artistic subjects.
So, obiously this is not very explicit, because in languages for example, the schools also give spaces to do a bit of original things, as composing texts, or poems, or spechees; but this is minimun if we compare it with all the hours dedicated to formal knowledge than is give as the absolut true.
The main goal of the educational systems have been, and will continue being, do people than be able to work...but is our responsability give to our kids other idea about than they can do, and about they can be wrong, and create, and so much. I think than the parents many times leave that task to the schools and they -parents- not be part of their educational process.
Bye!
